Live edge tables are tables built from a slab of wood cut to preserve the original “live edge” of the outer diameter of the tree. Sometimes two book matched slabs are used to increase the width and create mirrored live edges. The bark is removed and the edge is polished to reveal the natural contours of the original tree from which the table is made.

The natural cracks and checks in the wood are filled with a transparent epoxy to provide strength to the slab and fluidity to the surface. Bow-tie wedges are used as an elegant solution to prevent the wood from further splitting or cracking.
